US Highway 97 Sunriver Area Project Completion Means More Than Just Smooth Roads

US Highway 97 Improvement Project Nearing Completion – Why the project means more…

Brisk Clear Spring Day Near Lava Butte

Tired of dealing with the one South bound lane between the Lava Butte area of US Highway 97 and the South Century exit 153 areas. If you are it is totally understandable. As a Real Estate Agent who commutes out to Sunriver 5 or 6 days a week from Bend, I’m ready for the long awaited project to finish. Semi trucks, potholes, construction equipment working near the roadway, what a drag! The saving grace is a finished product that will be safer and more efficient for Sunriver visitors, homeowners, and the hundreds of people (if not more) that commute to and from the Sunriver area on a regular basis to conduct business. Completion is slated for Fall of this year, 2011. To me, someone who has played and or lived in the Central Oregon area for over 20 years, the completion of the 16 million dollar project means even more. Yes, the economy is rough. That said, Sunriver is a very special place, so special that even during a down economy, folks invest in this enchanting area. Specifically, the owners association approved the addition of a community amphitheatre and pool project, the looming completion of the Highway 97 project and the renovation and rejuvenation of The Village at Sunriver. When the economy and housing markets return, Sunriver will be poised to be more grand and unique than it has ever been before. Now that is a exciting thought for a Sunriver lover like me!
