SROA Fall Newsletter 2013
Whew! What a summer we’ve had in Sunriver! Despite a
few rain and thunder storms that rolled through (one bolt of lightning took out
a tree at Meadow Road and Lodgepole Lane), owners and visitors have taken
advantage of some great weather. SHARC has been filled with aquatic revelers
and Sunriver Resort is touting its best summer ever! With Labor Day recognized
as the “unofficial” end of the tourist season, things should start to
quiet down as we roll into fall.
Here is some news that might be important to
you…
- -Sept. 16 marks the official first day of SROA’s new general manager, Hugh
Palcic. Although he has been with the association for 15 years, stop by and say
“hello” if you haven’t yet met Hugh. - -River access survey available: SROA is seeking member comments/ideas on
river access and a proposed watercraft launch near HOLA! restaurant. Sunriver
Resort plans to close the existing boat launch at the marina after 2014,
leaving no launch/take out locations in Sunriver. The brief survey can be found
on the SROA website at www.sunriverowners.org>News&Notices>Boat
Ramp & Park Proposal. - –Deschutes County appraisers will be going door-to-door starting in
September to inspect and appraise approximately 3,500 Sunriver homes over the
next 12 months. Their findings will be combined with sales data to update home
market values and calculate property taxes for your 2014-2015 property tax
statement. A residential walk-through, if you choose to allow the appraisers
inside, should take about 15 minutes. If home interiors are not available to
them, they will take measurements outside. All inspectors will travel in teams
of two, carry ID and be driving well-marked county vehicles. The last county
inspection in Sunriver was in the 1990s. For more information, contact Theresa
Maul, Deschutes County Assessor’s office chief appraiser at 541-388-6508.
